Our Good Neighbor Story.
By Bette Nowinski
From the first time I walked into Good Neighbor Restaurant to take a “temporary” job as a hostess, I knew I had found a special place that was to become my destiny!
Nestled right at the heart of the entertainment capital of the world in the bustling Cahuenga Pass between Studio City and Hollywood, I went to work at Good Neighbor in 1978, first as a hostess and as a server soon thereafter. Over the next 15 years I gradually fell in love with this cozy little restaurant where the biggest names in entertainment would sit side by side with the local community and visitors from all over the world for a great breakfast or lunch in a warm and friendly neighborhood atmosphere. During those years I learned a great many valuable lessons about what is important to our guests and what it truly takes to consistently deliver a great dining experience.
In 1993, my husband Rick and I were presented with the opportunity to take over Good Neighbor and make it our own. We never hesitated and never looked back. Every day since then it has been our pleasure to serve our good neighbors what we consider to be the very best “home cooked” breakfast and lunch dishes in the atmosphere of our warm and friendly family home.
And this is like our home. We have raised our two wonderful children here and they, along with our grandchildren and our terrific staff, are here right alongside us, bright and early each morning, preparing fresh and tasty food made to order.
Over these years many of our loyal guests have become old friends as we watched their children grow right alongside our own. We are pleased to say that now this new generation has become loyal Good Neighbors as well! And isn’t that the way it should go? Generations of good neighbors and good friends sitting around the table, enjoying each other’s company, making memories and sharing a great meal together.
Welcome to Your Good Neighbor!
